SAN FRANCISCO — In what is being heralded as a breakthrough in the twin fields of podcasting and artificial intelligence, Two Designers Walk Into a Bar has become the first podcast completely produced with no human intervention.

By partnering with OpenAI, the inventors of ChatGPT+ and Dall-E 2, and with the help of proprietary tools from Microsoft, the Two Designers podcast will be researched, scripted, recorded, rendered, transcribed and posted without any sort of oversight from original co-hosts and co-creators Todd Coats and Elliot Strunk.

“It’s pretty easy for us to come up with basic episode ideas,” said Coats. “I mean, really easy. I’d say it’s the thing we’re best at.”

“We’re also pretty cheap,” added Strunk. “So while our time is valuable, we figured if we could not only have software do it, but have it happen offshore, we could save a few bucks.”

The real breakthrough has come through completely cloning not only the vocals of both hosts, but also the delicate balance of deep research and shallow jokes generated via a single prompt.

“Normally, if you’re paying attention, the jokes sort of write themselves,” said Strunk. “In this case, we don’t have to pay attention and the jokes still write themselves,” Coats noted.

Sam Altman, president of OpenAI, echoed the rapid progress being made.

“So far we’ve been able to deliver technology that has resulted in racist comments, disrupted marriages, pirated artistic styles and term paper avoidance for students. Thank God someone has finally found a valuable application for all our hard work! And I applaud Elliot and Todd for taking a leap of faith by testing our new offshore equipment strategically located on a retired fishing trawler in international waters and therefore not beholden to the laws of any single sovereign state.”

Strunk and Coats are also in talks with Apple about an immersive podcast experience for their upcoming headset.

Designcoin

The technology use and support will be funded by a new cryptocurrency, Designcoin, available on all major Bahamian-based exchanges beginning on April 17.

Official promotion for this token will begin with a balloon-based campaign over the continental United States. Testing, which has been happening since the beginning of the year, has met with mixed results to date but should be ready to debut mid-month.
